Joel Postman is Principal of Socialized, a consultancy that helps companies make effective use of social media in corporate communications, marketing and public relations; and former EVP of Emerging Media at Eastwick Communications.

Joel is a recognized authority on public relations, social media and executive communications. His background includes nearly a decade of Fortune 500 corporate communications leadership, including four years as the speechwriter to the CEO of Sun Microsystems, three years as a director of internal and executive communications at Hewlett-Packard, and experience in print and broadcast news. He is also an inventor, and holds several patents for bar code, smart card and portable data collection technology.

He is currently working on a book, SocialCorp, on the convergence of social media and corporate communications. The book will be published by Peachpit/New Riders in November, 2008.
